Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS): Grassy Creek plans to use the PBIS framework in order to identify, teach and support positive student behavior. This framework focuses on creating individual, classroom, and school-wide supports that increases desired behaviors across all areas of life - personal, health, social, family, work, recreation. For more information on PBIS, please visit https://www.pbis.org.
Warrior Way: The student-friendly version of PBIS is what we call our Warrior Way. The Warrior Way is: BE Responsible (know your job and do it), BE Respectful (treat others the way you want to be treated), and BE Safe (make smart choices). The school PBIS committee will continually be developing school-wide ways to teach and positively reinforce these behavioral focuses. This includes a morning meeting where we follow a district wide social emotional calendar. During these lessons, we may defined bullying, read a story or do an activity about bullying, and/or identified what to do and who to tell when someone is being bullied. To serve as a reminder to students of what bullying is, we will post Bullying Checklists throughout our school.
